10 trees for $10

For a membership fee of only $10, you can join the Arbor Day foundation and receive 10 free flowering trees delivered to your door.

I thought some of you might be interested in this offer and would hopefully plant their trees in celebration of Arbor Day or Earth Day. If you don't have space for the trees in your yard, then you could offer them to schools or parks or stream/creek organizations.

Spring Fling- May 5th

On Saturday, May 5th, Hope Valley North will host its first (hopefully annual) Spring Fling in the Shelly Place cul-de-sac. We will invite recommended service vendors to set up tables with information as well as have a garden boutique sale and food sale to raise money to renovate the front entrance (sign and landscaping).

We will be selling hot dogs/chips/drinks and there will be games and free face painting for the kids. Afterwards we will have a neighborhood garden tour.

The spring fling will take place between 10:00am and 1:00pm. During that time, sign up for the garden tour that will take place at 1:30pm.

How can you be involved? There are so many ways.
1.      First and foremost: Attend!!
2.      Volunteer on one of the committees helping set up the spring fling
3.      Donate plants/yard/garden  items to sell
4.      Donate food to sale
5.      Recommend someone you have used and really liked: a handyman, plumber, electrician
6.      Volunteer your garden to be on the garden tour
