Passing of a neighbor

Beverly Ann Smith Evans DURHAM - Beverly Ann Smith Evans, was born November 13, 1943 in Guilford County, NC to parents, Miranda Margaret Stephens Smith and Junius Smith, both deceased.
Following a two-year struggle with complications related to cancer, Beverly died on Monday, April 22nd at home, surrounded by family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, William P. (Bill) Evans; one son, Paul Franklin of Greensboro, NC; one daughter, Mira Williams (Eric Jerome) of Decatur, GA; five grandsons; three granddaughters; and a host of other family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 29th at St. Joseph AME Church, 2521 Fayetteville St., Durham, NC. The Rev. Dr. Philip R. Cousin Jr. officiating.

Visitation starting at 12 noon.

Spring Fling Reminder

Our neighborhood has a number of gardeners. For the past year we have been dividing plants from our gardens and potting them to sale at prices far below the big box stores. We currently have more than 80 plants potted and ready to go and will likely come up with more this spring!!
In addition to having many gardeners, several different neighbors have taken part of the CCAP program and have rain gardens and cistern as well. After the spring fling, there will be a walking tour of selected gardens throughout the neighborhood.
Neighbor recommended service vendors (handymen, electricians, arborist, etc) will set up tables with contact information. All vendors have been used by and recommended by neighbors in order to be invited to attend.
