Hope Valley North Neighborhood Association 2013 winter Newsletter

The last HVNN General meeting for 2013 will be held Tuesday, December 10th at 7:00 pm at Harris, Inc (3505 Hillsborough Rd.)There will be a short meeting to conduct business and elections held for the 2014 HVNNA board, then refreshments and a video montage of 2013 in HVNN.Please bring either a dessert or savory to share and non-perishable food items to be donated to a local church food pantry.If you want to carpool or have questions, call Debbie Lidowski @ 919.210.1450.

Housing Appeals Board

Attention Fellow Neighbors of Hope Valley North
There will be a hearing of the Housing Appeals Board concerning the sub standard conditions of the house located on:
3614 Shrewsberry St.
The purpose of this hearing is to determine if the condition of this building meets housing code set forth by the city of Durham. If it does not then the city will take action to bring it up to code; therefore helping our neighborhood to maintain property values.
We need all our neighbors to attend this hearing and voice their opinions and their concerns about this house.
The meeting takes place Wednesday November 20th promptly at 5:30pm(please plan on arriving around 5:15pm)

Parking: There is a Parking lot off of Main St. which is in front of the building or you can park in the lot off of Franklin St. which is in the back of the building.

North Carolina Jazz Ensemble concert 12/15/13

Hope Valley North’s own Reggie Leatherberry, president of the North Carolina Jazz Ensemble will be in concert at the Hayti Cultural Center at 4:00 pm on December 15.

The Jazz Ensemble, a big band jazz group, travels across the state doing performances and providing students with an introduction to everything about jazz.

Tickets will be $15 each. Reggie will have some and they will also be available at Hayti.
