Operation Medicine Drop – March 22, 2014
The Durham Police Department, in conjunction with Safe Kids Durham County, will be sponsoring Operation Medicine Drop on Saturday, March 22 at four locations. Operation Medicine Drop allows people to safely and anonymously dispose of unused or expired over-the-counter and prescription medications. The program’s purpose is to help prevent accidental poisonings and drug abuse.
Operation Medicine Drop will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following locations:
• Kerr Drugs, 1812 Holloway St.
• Kroger, 3457 Hillsborough Rd.
• Triangle Pharmacy/Ace Hardware, 4711 Hope Valley Rd.
• Kroger, 202 West NC Highway 54
Officers at these locations will supervise the collection and maintain security of any collected materials. The collected materials will be destroyed in an environmentally friendly manner. For information about Operation Medicine Drop, go to www.ncsafekids.org.
