Car break-ins last night

Last night at least 15 cars in Hope Valley North (HVN) were riffed through and had cash and electronics stolen. The thieves went into unlocked cars all throughout HVN.

If you saw or heard anything last night please call the police department and let them know. If you discover your car was broken into, please call the police and report it. If we don’t let the police know what is going on, they can’t help us.

Lock your doors
While this piece of advice should be obvious, but 15 cars last night were targeted because the door was unlocked.
Don’t leave valuables in the car
If it’s not in the car, the thieves can’t take it from the car.
Conceal your stuff
If you do leave valuables in your car; stow your electronics and accessories well out of sight. The evidence alone might be enough to pique the interest of thieves, so hide that too, including power plugs, iPod adapters, and gps windshield suction-cup mounts.
Park in your driveway and under a light
It’s more inconspicuous to break into cars on the street than to explain why you are in a stranger’s driveway at night.
